Rapid UI Prototyping: Bolt.new & v0.dev

What’s your experience with rapidly prototyping UIs? I’ve been experimenting with both Bolt.new (v0.dev) and v0.dev lately, and I'm finding Bolt.new’s live preview functionality – where changes appear instantly – significantly faster than v0.dev’s iterative approach, which often requires full page reloads. However, v0.dev still boasts a more mature component library and easier integration with existing web frameworks, particularly if you’re used to React. Ultimately, Bolt.new’s speed wins for quick validation, but v0.dev remains a solid option for more complex projects.

I’ve actually found Figma’s auto-layout feature much quicker for rapid UI prototyping – it allowed me to iterate on 5 different screen designs in under an hour, whereas Bolt.new's live preview felt a bit clunky for complex layouts.

That’s fantastic – while Bolt.new’s live preview is undeniably quicker, it’s worth noting that exporting a polished design from Figma using Bolt.new’s export function still requires a separate step, adding a small time investment.
