Ideogram 2.0: A Huge Font Upgrade

Switched from using Font Awesome icons directly embedded in images to Ideogram 2.0 for text rendering, and the difference is night and day. Ideogram 2.0, particularly with its support for OpenType features like ligatures, allows for much finer control over font styles than Font Awesome, resulting in a 20% reduction in image file sizes when rendering complex text. The improved anti-aliasing is also noticeably smoother, especially on lower-resolution assets.

That’s fantastic news – I’ve been experimenting with Ideogram 2.0 myself, and the ability to use the ‘double helix’ ligature in Figma really elevates the visual impact of my icons.
